About Cool Stuff Media

THE STORY

Cool Stuff Media was started by photographer and ex-music critic Anthony Locascio. After a couple of months of going to shows and taking photos, it was time to do something with the photos and make a web archive. That eventually became the first iteration of the Cool Stuff Blog, which served as a weekly update complete with anecdotes and behind-the-scenes photography to go along with the shows’ main photo galleries. This was awesome for a few months, it grew steadily, and achieved exactly what it set out to do by giving context behind the photos. It eventually began to outgrow itself, and that’s where Cool Stuff Media comes in. What if we had a self-supported media outlet with more than just photos dedicated to covering all of these bands and artists? Cool Stuff Media is just that, a platform dedicated to documenting the Southern California underground music scene. Whether it be through photos, videos, blog posts, or interviews, we want to make sure that you can engage with your favorite artists and bands on a deeper level.
